Authority to Act

Applicants are welcome to nominate an Authority to Act by completing an Authority to Act form if they wish. However, it is not compulsory to have an Authority to Act in order to apply for registration or to make an enquiry of any kind with our Board; nor does an Authority to Act influence the progress of an assessment of an application in any way.

An Authority to Act form must be completed by both the applicant and their nominated Authority where indicated*.

Please note: The Board’s application fee does not differ if an applicant has an Authority to Act on their behalf.

The Authority to Act entitles the authorised person nominated to deliver/collect documents; and/or receive information from the Nurses Board of Victoria on your behalf, until such time as your registration is approved by the Nurses Board of Victoria.

IMPORTANT:

  • This authorisation expires upon registration as a nurse in Victoria; OR upon withdrawal, ineligibility or expiry of your application for registration;
  • This authorisation replaces any previous authorisation(s) that you have submitted to the Nurses Board of Victoria;
  • You can withdraw this authority at any time by advising the Nurses Board of Victoria in writing;
  • Only the Authority to Act form will be accepted.
