Interstate Nurses

If you are a nurse registered elsewhere in Australia or New Zealand, you may be registered to practise in Victoria.

You must hold current registration in Australia or New Zealand before you can seek registration for the equivalent occupation for which you hold registration (Mutual Recognition Act (Cth) 1992 ("MRA") s 19; Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (Commonwealth) 1997 ("TTMRA") s 18).

If you have been previously registered in Victoria, it is preferred that you re-register under the Health Professions Registration Act 2005.

Please be aware that should you choose to apply under Mutual Recognition you would not be eligible to undertake an accredited re-entry or supervised practice program if you have had a lapse in practice for more than 5 years.

All statements and other information in the application must be verified by statutory declaration.
