Defence Force Nurses

The Board may grant registration in division 2 of the register to personnel from the Australian Defence Force who have completed a medical or nursing assistant course.

To be eligible for registration in division 2 of the register, Australian Defence Force personnel must:

Fulfill the requirements of a complete application for initial registration
Fulfill additional requirements as set out in the prescribed application form including:
- submit evidence of the completion of Basic medical assistant course and provide the transcript of training;
- submit evidence of the successful completion of the Australian Defence Force Trade Test;
- submit evidence of the completion of twelve (12) months full time nursing experience;
- submit a written recommendation from the Commanding Officer for registration
Pay the prescribed fee; and
Upon assessment of eligibility by the Board, complete a period of supervised practice in an accredited health care facility and obtain a satisfactory report on completion.
